What is special

Ladakh is a high altitude cold desert with a low level of atmospheric oxygen. Tourists might want to accumulate the atmosphere before immediately engaging themselves with physical activity. The lanes and by-lanes curve around colorful Ladakhi houses with brightly-painted windows overlooking little gardens blossoming with cosmos, poppies and hollyhocks.


Leh Palace that rises from the edge of a hill overlooking the town and stretches out towards the indigo sky. You may capture the remarkable, mystical, picturesque view of Lhasa’s Potala Palace.
The Nubra Valley known as a flowering den gets clad in endless bushes of yellow and pink wild roses. Once the valley is through with the season of roses around August, a carpet of wild lavender lies gently on it. Nubra is also a relatively warmer valley in Ladakh making it perfect for crops and fruits to grow.

The Diskit Village is located near Khalsar. Dotted with apricot plantations it is one of the larger village of the Nubra valley. The road between Diskit and the quaint little Hunder Village winds through a gorgeous stretch of sand dunes. A quiet and pleasant evening can be spent amidst nature with snowcapped peaks in the background.


Dry cold during winter and dry hot during summer. Light woolens are required during summers. May to November is the best season to visit.

By Air - Indian Airlines operates scheduled services from Srinagar to Leh & Jammu/Leh. Leh airport is 8km from city center. Jet Airways also operates services between Jammu , Delhi and Srinagar (Sundays only).

By Rail - The nearest Rail Head is Jammu 620 km. from Leh. Jammu is connected to all parts of India through express trains. Malwa Express, Super Fast, Jammu Mail, Jammu Express, Shalimar Express, Sealdah Express, Jehlum Express, Himgari Express, Himsagar Express, Lohit Express, Sarwodya Express, Happa Express, Novyug Express, Gorakhpur Express, Barauni Express, Madras Express, Rajdhani Express & Ferozpur Express.

By Road - Leh is approachable on State highway from Srinagar crossing high passes, the highest being Fotu-la(13,479 feet). Road communication between Srinagar and Leh is closed between October & May.

For local sight seeing taxis and luxury coaches are available.

Stock Palace Museum 17 km from Leh town, this museum exhibits precious stones, thangkas, coins, royal crowns and dresses and prayer instruments.
Leh Mosque Built by Deldan Namgyalin the 17th century, attribute to his Muslim mother. The Leh Mosque, an exquisite work of Turko-Iranian architecture, stands majestically in the main bazaar(market).

Compa Tsemo Royal monasteries, Tsemo Gompa is located near the palace, is known for its two-storeyed statue of Chamb Buddha in a sitting posture.
