Goa has a moderate temperature.
May is the hottest month while January and February are the coldest. Tropical weather
prevails in the rest of the year. Southwest monsoon brings rain in Goa between June
and September. July is the month that receives maximum rainfall while February gets
least amount of rain.
Goa can be visited any time of the year. But the time Goa reveals itself best is
the height of monsoons from mid-July to late September, and peak winters from November
end to mid February.

By Air - Goa is connected by Indian
Airlines flights from Mumbai (formerly Bombay), Bangalore, Cochin, and New Delhi;
by Sahara Air from Jaipur, New Delhi, and Mumba; and by Jet Airways from Bangalore
and Mumbai.
By Rail - Goa is linked by meter-gauge line to Mumbai, Bangalore,
New Delhi, Secunderabad, and Tirupati. Convenient railheads are Margao and Vasco
de Gama.
By Road - Goa is connected with all major towns in India via National
Highways.

Panaji - It is the capital of Goa.
It is a rather small town but one of the most beautiful in India. From the wooded
Altinho Hill, the town slopes to the Mandovi River.
Idalcao Palace - Situated in the capital, Sultan Adil Shah of Bijapur
built the palace during the 14th century. At present, the palace houses the secretariat.
Next to the secretariat is the bronze statue of Abbe Faria, believed to be the father
of hypnotism.
Fort Aguada - Situated 10 km north of Panaji, the Aguada Fort has
the first lighthouse in Asia. It was built in 1612 to protect Old Goa by controlling
the entry to river Mandovi. The fort was equipped with an ammunition room, barracks
and a church. It was once a place of Portuguese strength and power. Today it serves
as the Central Jail.
Goa State Museum - The museum has several galleries featuring Christian
Art, Hindu and Jain sculptures and bronze artefacts, and paintings from all over
India.
Santa Monica - Ferrying across the river Mandovi in the ferry Santa
Monica is a unique experience. Goa Tourism Development Corporation conducts the
cruise.
