If adults can have their fashion, what stops children from being trendy? Nowadays, children's fashion is as happening as fashion for grown ups. You see a splash of colors, new cuts and styles in clothes and accessories for children. Be it boys' or girls' outfits, or children's wear for special occasions, fashion for children is making inroads even in the most orthodox families.

Hot trends for children this winter:

Hot colors for the winter
It's autumn, and with the falling leaves, the clothing for children is bright with colors. The colors are on the warmer side – reflecting the need of the approaching winters. Cozy browns, blazing Halloween pumpkin orange, shades of cherry and delicious reds mixed with pine greens, even turquoise makes a comeback on girls' outfits this season. Experiment with a little baby pink to add a warm soothing contrast.

Mix and Match
In fabrics, it's textured patterns all over. Let mix and match be the mantra for the season. After all with so many festivals lined up, mixing around with people is the need of the hour. Large and small chequered patterns, diagonal or straight, woven, printed or knitted are a sure hit with girls as well as boys. Fabrics with embellishments such as embroidery, fur, riveting will also be in vogue this season. For winters, its fluffy and cuddly woolens and soft leather (even imitation will do). For special occasions, children's wear this season goes back to Indian roots with ethnic materials with international cuts.

Girls' Outfits – Going Ethnic
For the girls, this season is all about attention – highlights in gold and silver, metal rivets, shiny sequins and pearls are going to be definite attention holders. Go ethnic with large sequin ghaghras this Diwali season. Accessories adorned with cowrie shells, beads and Kutchi thread work in reds and greens on browns and blacks are predicted to be hot sellers. Try a spaghetti top on a traditional ghaghra for girls, with a sequined or embroidered dupatta.

Boys' Outfits – Denim Delight
The stress is on denim this season. With the new wave remix videos popularizing the fabric amongst teenagers in India, denim has returned to rule the ramp. For boys, denim jackets and jeans for casuals seem to be hot in the cool autumn breeze. Deep midnight blues, blue-green algae and black with accents of blue mark the colors. Top them up with cuddly woolens.
